Q. How do I make a reservation?
A. Reservations are made by completing the online Youth Concert reservation form with credit card or ArtsPartners voucher payment, mailing in the reservation form with a check or money order to the address listed below, or by calling Malori Fuchs at 214.871.4006.

Mailing Address:

          Attn: Malori Fuchs
            2301 Flora Street, Ste. 300
            Dallas, TX 75201

Q. What is the admission fee?
A. $6.00 per person

Q. When will I get my tickets?
A. We do not issue tickets for Youth Concerts. After your reservation is processed, you will be e-mailed a Youth Concert receipt. This receipt serves as a "ticket" for your group.

Q. If I send my reservation in early, can I get the seats I want for my kids in the hall?
A. Due to the number of people that attend each youth concert (approximately 1,800 per concert), we cannot guarantee that you will get the seats you request.  We will, however, do our best to accommodate all seating requests as much as possible.  If your group has specific needs for their safety or comfort, please make these needs known upon making your reservation via mail, internet or phone.

Q. How are seats assigned in the hall?
A. All seats are assigned according to group size or specific seating needs. For example, if you should have a group of 300 people, you will only be able to sit together as a group in certain areas of the hall that can accommodate that number, while a group with 15 people might fit in another area. We are unable to make changes less than two business days prior to that Concert. Please be prepared (and help your students to prepare) to sit in ANY area of the hall. All seats have excellent views of the stage!

Q. When will I get written confirmation of my reservation?
A. A receipt will be sent to you by e-mail after your reservation is received and processed.

Q. Are the activities and information in the Teacher's Guide available online?
A. All of the activities found in the Teacher's Guide are available on DSOkids.com. The activities for the upcoming concerts will be placed in the appropriate areas immediately upon final editing. It will actually put you at an advantage to access the Teacher's Guide activities online because they will be available there before your receive the Guide in the mail, giving you more time to use it with your students. If, for some reason, a member of your group does not have Internet access and would like a copy of the activities, you may make copies of the Guide you receive in the mail and distribute the pages as needed. (Please note that copying the CD is NOT permissible.)  We think that you will find DSOKids.com to be a great tool as you prepare your kids for the Youth Concerts, and in general as a music education resource.

Q. When will I recieve my Teacher's Guide?
A. A DSO Teacher’s Guide packet will arrive approximately one month before your scheduled Youth Concert field trip.

Q. What time should we arrive at the Meyerson?
A. Please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before the concert is scheduled to begin. Please be in your seats ten minutes before the concert starts, which is when the organ demonstration takes place.  If you have a large group with several buses, it is advisable to arrive 45 minutes prior to concert start time.

Q. If I am coming by car, where do I park?
A. Please park in the Hall Arts Center Garage (formerly the Arts District Garage). Visit http://american-parking.com/locations.html for directions. The parking fee for Youth Concert events is $6.00 per vehicle.

Q. How long are the Youth Concerts?
A. Each concert is approximately 45 minutes long.

Q. Can I bring a camera?
A. No.  Cameras and recording devices are prohibited in the concert hall.

Q. Can we bring food to the concert?
A. No. Food and drink, including chewing gum, are prohibited in the concert hall.

Q. Can you give me a refund if a student is absent?
A. Sorry, but absolutely no exchanges or refunds are possible, even in the case of cancellations or absences.

Q. I have special needs students in my group- how do you accommodate them?
A. If any member of your group has special needs, please inform us on the Youth Concert reservation form or via phone upon making a reservation, specifying the nature of their needs. All special needs visitors receive FREE admission to DSO Youth Concerts. We will make any accommodation necessary in order for them to enjoy the performance to the fullest!

Q. My group wants to stay to eat sack lunches after the concert. Is this possible?
A. Sorry, no.  It is our intention to make the dismissal process go as quickly and easily as possible for everyone, and having students and buses stay in the vicinity slows this process down considerably.  If you wish to have a sack lunch after the concert, please consider using Reverchon Park, located at 3401 Maple Avenue.

Q. Do I have to arrange for my own transportation?
A. Yes.  The DSO does not provide buses for schools attending Youth Concerts.  The following organizations are good resources for schools needing field trip transportation assistance:

Target Field Trip Grants: go to http://www.target.com.  At the bottom, under Company Information, click on "Community," then "Grants" on the left side bar, then "Field Trip Grants."  The application cycle for 2011-2012 begins on August 1, 2011.

Donors Choose:  Schools can post their need on http://www.donorschoose.org.  This is an online charity connecting donors to classroom projects and trips.

Q. How can I give feedback about a Youth Concert that I attended with my students?
A. We welcome and appreciate your feedback! Please click here to share your thoughts and register for a chance to win free DSO concert tickets.
