Teacher Resources: Family Concerts

Dallas Symphony Orchestra Family Concerts offer a lively introduction to the orchestra and its music through "kid-friendly" performances of familiar, exhilarating repertoire. Research has shown that life-long concert enjoyment most often begins with a childhood experience with family members. Through the Family Concerts series, the Dallas Symphony encourages families to start the tradition of concert attendance with their children.

DSO Family Concerts include pre-concert activities in the lobby of the Meyerson Symphony Center and a one-hour, kid-friendly performance by the orchestra with narration and visuals. Programming includes an annual Halloween concert with audience and musicians in costume, performances of children's favorites such as "Peter and the Wolf", zany guest narrators, and themed concerts featuring orchestral classics.
